Asian handicaps explained
Whole, half and quarter lines — and how they settle.
Updated 4 Oct 2026
Asian handicaps remove the draw by giving one team a goal start or deficit.
Half-goal lines (−0.5, +1.5)
No push is possible. −0.5 is the same as backing the team to win.
Whole-goal lines (−1, +1)
If the adjusted result is level, your stake is returned (void). Backing a team −1 that wins by exactly one goal = stake back.
Quarter lines (−0.25, −0.75, +1.25)
Your stake is split in half across the two neighbouring lines. −0.75 is half on −0.5 and half on −1. A one-goal win means the −0.5 half wins and the −1 half is void: a half win.
Our settlement engine handles all of these automatically and shows half-won/half-lost results on tipster records.
